Where were you born?

Rhode Island, U.S.A.

Where do you live?

In the U.S.A.

Do you have fur babies?

I have two tuxedo cats:

  • Mickey
  • Fritz

Do you use a pen name?

No, I don't.

What kind of writer are you?

  • Contemporary Tech Writer (phone/tablet/voice over)
  • Modern Day Laptop/PC Writer

Name one book you loved as a kid - one you loved as a new adult - and one you love now.

  • As a child, I loved The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett,
  • As an adult, I love The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho,
  • A book I recently read that I enjoyed is The Accidental Life of MF Ascher by Ivy H. Booker

Is there an author you look up to? Or had an influence on your craft?

  • Liane Moriarty,
  • Jamie Beck,
  • Glendy Vadnerah,
  • Elin Hilderbrand.

I love any author that takes you into a realistic world and makes you feel the emotions of the characters. I want to care about the characters I am reading and the journey they are on. These authors do that for me.

How would you describe your craft in one sentence?

A dark haired woman holding a book called The Flannigan Girls.

Character driven, emotional charged novels about everyday people

At The Dreamer's Bookshop, we embrace diversity and advocate for invisible illnesses. How do you feel about those topics? Do you include messages in your writing?

As someone living with a chronic illness, I appreciate that The Dreamer's Bookshop embraces everyone. I thread these same messages throughout my books.

My newest book deals with mental illness, traumatic brain injury and early onset dementia all weaved into a story of hope.

Do you have red lines when it comes to writing/reading?

Not sure what that means.

Was there a review that touched you more than others?

One reviewer said they wish they could read my novel for the first time again.

That meant so much to me. As a writer, I want my readers to make a connection to the characters and story.

If someone asked you why you write, what would you answer in one sentence?

Writing is an art and a form of expression for me.

I am better at writing my thoughts and feelings than saying them.

Which book are you most proud of and why?

My newest release From This Day Forward.

A new book called From This Day Forward.

I am so proud of how the story came together, and I'm proud of the way I was able to represent individuals living with TBI's in an honest and real way.

What would you tell an aspiring writer?

Just write.

You can't do much until you have words on paper.

So don't overthink it, just write.

What's a wish you have for yourself as an author?

A wish for myself is that I continue to write stories that excite me and give my readers a place to escape into.

What's a wish you have for yourself as a person?

As a person, I wish to not let my illness hold me back from doing what I'm passionate about and to have grace with myself on the days that I can't.

Do you have a message for your audience?

Whatever brings you joy... do that!
